The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that officially licensed Seabiscuit merchandise, produced by the popular manufacturer Roots, is now available.
Merchandise—including an assortment of shirts and hats, as well as a collector's set of six trading cards—can be purchased at www.ntra.com or by calling 1-800-992-9805 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday. Seabiscuit merchandise also is available at a number of racetracks around the country and in Canada.
“In the short time that this merchandise has been available on ntra.com, sales have been very brisk,” said Keith Chamblin, senior vice president—marketing and industry relations for the NTRA. “The public is eagerly awaiting Seabiscuit's release, and we think they will enjoy this quality line of goods from Roots.”
Seabiscuit, based on the best-selling book by Laura Hillenbrand, stars Tobey Maguire, Academy Award- winner Chris Cooper and Jeff Bridges and opens in movie theatres nationwide on Friday, July 25. The film also marks the acting debut of active rider Gary Stevens, who was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People earlier this year.
