Died on May 20, 1995, at age 71 after a long illness

Resident: Paris, France

Primary business was shipping and in 1994 had bought an interest in S.T. H., a French horse transportation business

First Thoroughbreds: Purchased in 1962

Purchased his first breeding stock in 1964

Often represented by his son, Charles-Henri

Another son, Arnaud, began training in France in 1992

His balc and gold "bumble bee" colors were famous throughout the world

It was one of his ambitions to see his colors win in England, but that never materialized. Although Dernier Empereur won England's Champion Stakes in 1993, it was in the colors of Gary Tanaka, who purchased half-interest in the horse

Owned three farms:Haras du Mezeray, Maylands Stud Farm and Marystead Farm

The 200-acre Haras du Mezeray at Ticheville, Vimoutiers, France was founded in 1962; has 100 boxes and a pre-training center complete with all-weather gallops. Haras du Mezeray has about 70 mares and is home to stallions Subotica, Al Nasr, Homme de Loi, Vert Amande, and Sait Estephe

De Moussac was the breeder and part owner of 1992 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Subotica

Best produce bred by Haras du Mezeray include Margouillat, Noir Et Or, Luth de Saron, Luth Enchantee, Exclusive Order, Trempolino, Luth Dancer, French Stress, Mill Native, Subotica and Apple Tree

Best horses raced: Trempolino (winner of the 1987 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and second in the 1987 Breeders' Cup Turf), Luth Enchantee (1983 champion miler in France), Spectacular Joke, Exclusive Order, Acteur Francais, Pink Turtle, Borromini, French Stress, Mill Native (sold to Evergreen Farm before his win in the 1988 Arlington Million) and Pigeon Voyageur.
